The Duke of Leinster Hotel and its staff exceeded our expectations (3nts - 5th/8th Nov 2024). The location is idea with easy walking access to Kensington Gardens, Kensington Palace and the main Museums (Natural History, Science & the Victoria & Albert). The hotel is easily accessed by tube at either Queensway (Central line) or Bayswater (Circle or District Lines) Underground Stations (both of which are around a 10 minute walk). We were warmly welcomed on arrival and able to leave our suitcases secure until it was time to check in (2pm). We were allocated room 103 which is in the sub-basement adjacent to the Breakfast room. The room itself was not very big but the bed was comfortable, there were tea/coffee facilities in the room and the en-suite bathroom was well appointed. Everything was very clean and we were extremely surprised and pleased to receive fresh hand and bath towels each day. As we look at any as simply a place to sleep we do not place any store on the size of the room - as long as it's clean (and this one certainly was) we are happy. There is a little noise from the breakfast room as early risers take breakfast but as we were in London to see as much as possible we we also up and about quite early. The local area has a variety of shops such as: a general convenience store (open 24hrs); a Greek restaurant; the Leinster Arms is the local Pub (very good food served to 10pm); Café/Wine Bar. For anyone wishing to use the hop-on/hop-off tourist bus services, they can be boarded on Bayswater Road outside the Thistle Kensington Gardens Hotel which is 5mins walk from the Duke of Leinster Hotel (you can identify the bus stop as there is usually a member of the bus company waiting to greet you, but in case no-one is there, it is the bus stop immediately in front of the petrol station. I can thoroughly recommend the Duke of Leinster Hotel and its staff. We will certainly be back in 2025.

My daughter and I were assigned a family room (405) with a double and 2 single beds so there was plenty of room for us. Our room was away from the lift, reception and kitchen/breakfast room so no noise complaints. The rooms was well equipped with a dining table, tea/coffee station, fridge and toiletries in the shower room. It was a nice touch for the portable air con units to be running prior to check in so the rooms was at a very comfortable temperature. I was expecting a continental breakfast so it was a welcome surprise to be able to have eggs, beans, turkey bacon and little chicken hot dogs with my toast. I was also appreciative to be able to leave our luggage with reception before check in and after check out and very kind of the staff to print a copy of our boarding passes, which I was having trouble downloading on to my mobile.

The hotel is a short Uber journey from Paddington station. We found it a nice quiet location. We were staying on the 5th floor and had to use the lift. Be aware if you’re claustrophobic you might prefer to take the stairs. The lift was tiny and a real squash for 3 people with overnight bag, couldn’t work out if it was going up as the arrows weren’t working, very creaky and made us nervous it would break down. Thankfully it didn’t. The room was large with a table , chairs huge mirror , and plenty of storage space we had 2 double and 1 single comfortable beds. The bathroom albeit small gave us all we needed, however I had to run the tap for a significant amount of time to get cold water and the hot water is BOILING! The shower was small but powerful with plenty of shower gel, soap, shampoo and conditioner. Plenty of fresh clean towels.

The rooms are not large, but they have modern amenities that make the stay comfortable. The staff is friendly and accommodating, always ready to help with recommendations or requests. The breakfast is varied and delicious, perfect for starting the day. Overall, Duke Of Leinster Hotel provides an excellent experience and a great base for exploring the city. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a pleasant stay in London!

The location was perfect, two minutes walk from Hyde Park, so a great base from which to explore London. The hotel was very clean, and the beds were extremely comfortable with sufficient heating in the room to keep out the cold night air in December. Special mention to the staff, especially those who worked the breakfast room (very hard working and efficient), who together made this a wonderfully enjoyable stay. Will definitely return, great hotel at great value.
